For SEOs

Key Points

  • Google Search uses computer programs called web crawlers to explore the web and find web pages to add to their Google database for web pages known as the index.
  • Google doesn’t accept payment to crawl a site more frequently, or rank it higher. If anyone tells you otherwise, they’re an SEO scammer
  • There are three stages of Google Search 1) Crawling i.e. when Google bots download content i.e. text, images, and videos from web pages on the internet 2) Indexing i.e. when Google analyses text, images, and videos and store it on a google database also known as the Google index 3) Search results i.e. when Google uses algorithms to decide which web pages to show to internet users.
  • During the indexing process, Google determines if a page is a duplicate of another page on the internet or canonical.
