  • Make Sure Your Content Is Readable. Readability ensures that your content is clear and easy to understand. This increases user engagement on your website.  If sentences are too long or words are too complex for your target audience, not only will it confuse your readers, but Google picks up on these things too.
    • Separate your content into logical sections
    • Write in short, simple sentences
    • Use bullet points and numbered lists

    • Use videos, slideshows and other multimedia throughout

  • Create content that answers most searched for questions on Google i.e. What is ____? Who is____? Why is____? When is____? How to____?
  • Update and Republish Old Content. Update your website frequently. Websites with dynamic content often rank higher than those with static content. That’s why blogs and directories (like Wikipedia) do so well on search engines. They are constantly being updated with new content.
  • Transcribe Your Video Content. Because video transcripts help search engines understand the video content on your web pages.
  • Setup Google Analytics (GA) to track website traffic and see which content is popular and write more of it. Google Analytics lets you track how many people are using your website, and what they do when they are there. It can track sales, what content interests your audience the most, and how your audience finds you.
  • Get rid of content that is a low ranking, and of no value to the website visitor. Either fix or delete web pages with thin content because thin content will not help your rankings.
  • Optimize content for featured snippets. Because 23% of all search result pages now include a featured snippet. There  are five general types of featured snippets: Paragraph, List (a.k.a listicles, bullet points Or numbered list), Table, Video and Accordion.

  • Find and copy proven Content ideas for ANY Topic (or Keyword)
    • Use google or buzz sumo or ahrefs content explorer to find content that is popular on social media and ranking well in the search results

  • Make sure your content aligns with the “3 C’s of search intent”
    • Content-Type: This is about the “type” of content that ranks in the top 10 for a particular search query. Usual content types are a product page, category page, sales landing page and blog post.
    • Content-Format: The content that  currently ranks in the top 10 of the SERPs is it video? Or a list? Or How-To-Guide? Create content using a content-format that is being favoured by the search engine.
